Poolside mojito sipping and general beach frolicking are always winners in my book. Part of it is unleashing your lazy-daisy attitude, but it also means you get to sport a cute swim suit while relaxing with your pals. This season, I’m pushing for bright bikini’s (as usual), but I’m also in the market for a look that’s a little bit retro. Think modern fits with a dash of ‘50s-inspired Hollywood glam, pulling together playful details like ruffles and high waists with sexy bustier tops. Also in the mix are sassy one pieces splashed in bright colors and a mix of both modern and vintage-inspired prints.
The powerful, elegant and arrestingly sexy JETS White Label Sensation Collar One Piece was donned by supermodel Miranda Kerr on the runway earlier this month. Made from a Nylon microfiber Lycra, with a plunging V-line and belt buckle detail, this swimsuit is a celebration of sensual glamour – a synergy of highly original styling, exclusive, luxe fabrics and clever, unique detail that culminates in the most glamourous swimwear. So treat yourself to this year’s most watched swimsuit and get it pre-order now on SurfStitch.com.
Last night SurfStitch was featured in ‘The Retail Revolution’ segment on 60 Minutes. Come along as Charles Wooley takes us through why more and more people are choosing the online option.
“Well there are some compelling reasons. There is a bigger range of goods out there in cyber space, its open 24/7, there’s no waiting in queues, and although sometimes it’s cheaper, it seems as though what the customer is really going for is ease and convenience. No matter where in the world you order from, within 48 hours you get the thrill and excitement of opening a present from yourself.”
To celebrate our 5 minutes of fame, SurfStitch is offering a 6 day deal. Spend over $100 and get $20 off your next SurfStitch order (click here for details).
Saturday the 27th of August went down as an incredible day in surfing history with 15 – 25ft waves (watch a replay of the webcast via the Billabong Heat Analyzer). With the swell still pumping at around 10ft we are set for a massive day of surfing by the world’s best. Click here to watch the continuation of Round 3 of the Billabong Pro Tahiti live now!
Last week we were honoured to have 60 Minutes pay a visit to the SurfStitch Headquarters in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. Over the span of two fun filled days we played host to Charles Wooley and the friendly Channel 9 crew. Day 1 involved an extensive tour around the office and warehouse, sitting in on a shoot of our new season summer product, hours of interviews and finally a late dinner and drinks with the 60 Minutes crew at Oskars overlooking Burleigh Beach.
The next day, our managing directors, Lex Pedersen and Justin Cameron, invited the crew to spend a day with them in the beautiful town of Byron Bay where both Lex and Justin live. After showing them around Lex’s rented pad overlooking The Pass (is this not every surfer’s dream?), the team cruised down in their lime green V-dub kombi van for a surf at their local break. There was even a sneaky game of table tennis to finish the day.
So to check out Justin and Charles battle it out, be sure to watch 60 Minutes this Sunday night, 28 August at 7:30pm on Channel 9.
This season there are many a printed pants to sport, mini skirts to don, and maxi dresses to drape, but don’t forget to make closet space for one piece of clothing in particular: leather shorts. Who knew these tough shorts would prove one of the most versatile pieces of clothing a gal could own? The abbreviated length makes it a perfect choice to sport now that it’s getting warmer, but since it is technically a wintry hide you can lump it into your AW wardrobe as well. Maybe you won’t slip into these shorts come high summer, but for right now as we make the switch to a new season they will surely come in handy. To get a effortless look that easily balances the tough with the dainty, pair biker-inspired shorts with a super-femme top. Opt for a pale palette of blushes, ivory, or beige to add even more grace to your look and finish with accessories that won’t tip the scale either way, meaning don’t get too girly with your jewelry but don’t’ go all out biker babe either. In the end, you’ll step out in something that’s refreshing and casual, but also packs a ton of attitude.
Side note: If there’s still a little chill in the air, leather shorts also look amazing with an oversize sweater and booties!
While most of us have been layering on the winter woollies and fighting the sniffles, some of the SurfStitch crew have been enjoying the lovely French summer while setting up our new European headquarters in Hossegor, on the south-west coast of France. Oui, oui, you heard right – Australia’s #1 surf and fashion retailer is headed north!
As you can see, there’s plenty of work to be done to take our new office and warehouse space from, well, pretty much empty, to packed full with fab new products and staff. Helped by long hours of sunlight, sometimes until 11pm, we still managed to get out and about to explore this amazing region. Surrounded by famous Atlantic Ocean surf breaks and beaches and bordered by thick pine forests to the east, vineyards of Bordeaux to the north, and Basque country, the Pyrenees and northern Spain a mere hour’s drive south, you couldn’t ask for a more perfect location to work and play! Not to mention the fact we’re in good company – Billabong, Element, Nixon, Quiksilver, Rusty and Rip Curl all have their Euro HQ’s close by.
Our photographer snapped away and put together this video to give you a little taste of our French summer adventure. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to launch!
Au revoir for now…
As you all would have heard, the Billabong Pro has landed in Tahiti. Check out these unreal pics and video highlights from Round 1 over the weekend. With a mammoth swell on its way the beautiful shores of Tahiti and the Teahupo’o reef break itself is the perfect setting for the world’s best surfers to battle it out.

Staying true to their mantra, Roxy has once again released a collection of wetsuits that not only look good, but are functional too. “Our mission at Roxy has always been to have one foot in the surf world and the other foot in the fashion world.” So when designer and avid surfer, Cynthia Rowley teamed up with Roxy for their 2011 summer range, we knew it would make a splash.
Inspired by a shared love for surf, sun and fashion, this collection has a mad retro feel with a tasteful execution of colour and style. So click here to shop this delicious range online now at SurfStitch.com!
We’re seeing red this season! Actually, more like a reddish orange. A pop of poppy added to a daytime or evening outfit will keep your look fresh and summery, and also very current. Check out how Rachel Bilson topped coloured denim shorts with a black blazer and white tee, now that’s a cute, playful look that you can wear anywhere.
