It’s that time of year again, when the weather is starting to take a turn for the worse and summer dances on the distant horizon like an un-reachable mirage. To bring back a little of the sunny spirit and put a warm smile on my face, it is also that time of year when SurfStitch receives the first drop of Tigerlily’s Summer range. One my personal favorite brands, Tigerlily never fails to impress with their beautiful detailing and epic inspiration behind each new collection…and this year is no different.
To provoke their design and draw inspiration the team travelled to the harsh desert landscape of Morocco (my number 1 must see destination) where colour runs rich and beauty and attention to detail are key. Mountain Villages, forbidden harems and infamous tanneries helped create a collection that “brings and overtly warm retro palette both naive and worldly tones, texture and print,” the colour pallet reads something like a well stocked spice cabinet with “Turmeric, paprika, pumpkin and saffron, Egyptian blue, pigment blue, indigo and aragan green” frequented.
Take a look at some of the amazing imagery the Tigerlily team posted on their blog from their travels and see where the motivation came for a collection that is both wild and chic with just the right amount of bohemian flare running through it. I feel warmer already.
