The 66th edition of the glamorous Cannes Film Festival kicked off in the French Riviera yesterday. Baz Luhrmann’s lavish take on the classic The Great Gatsby opened the festival with stars including Carey Mulligan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman and Isla Fisher gracing the red carpet despite the windy and drenching weather. The horrible weather didn’t manage to ruin the high spirits although the hemlines had to be watched and hair and make up excused!
The film world royalty all port at the picturesque French Riviera for the 12 day festival which is filled with beautiful people and amazing cinematography.
