Staff Style: The New Arrivals Of Autumn- Part 1.

With our Autumn new arrivals streaming in the door, I thought it was time for another wander around the office to see what our team here at SurfStitch have added to their shopping cart and how they wear it.

What I found was was a mixture of earthy and warm tones, some lovely lace ups and a plenty of pairs of jeans. Check out how the SurfStitch team are rocking their new arrivals this Autumn.

1 Item, 3 Ways

We all love and need those pieces in our wardrobes that we can wear time and time again. Some may call them ‘statements,’ ‘staples’ or their ‘go-to piece,’ whatever you call it, it’s all the same. Back In Black.

SurfStitch brand Lee contracted LA skater, filmaker and photographer Mike Piscitelli to shoot their AW 13 wear. And so, with the help of models Cole Mohr and Cora Keegan the following tale of late night rock and roll and anarchy was created all covered in tattoo’s, glitter, torn fabric and of course, the colour black.

Obsession: Shirts Around Waist

You only need to take a look at the endless street style blog coverage of fashion week to know what trends and obsessions are circulating through the fashion world. One trend that we see continuously popping up in our feed are shirts tied around the waist otherwise known as the waist-wrap. Love it or hate it this trend is coming back in a big way. Hailing from the 90s grunge days, shirts tied around your waist have otherwise been non existent for years, kept in the past and remembered on the punks in mosh pits rocking the look with their band tees and doc martens. Tying your shirt around your waist is perfect for those transeasonal months when the weather is as unpredictable as your hair first thing in the morning!

A casual daytime staple, this is a great layering technique to break up an outfit or add a splash of colour. Whether you prefer the grungy plaid, leather or denim, this is one trend that is completely up to your personal choice and can be styled in numerous ways. Kate Bock For Elle Italia.

Katelynne Bock is the latest beautiful creature to participate in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. The recent shoot she did for Elle Italia is one of the greatest examples of eye popping, pattern clashing, fashion flare I have seen in a while and Katelynne’s natural beauty radiates as she pulls off fashion forward tomboy in the most charming way.

I love how the layers make it winter appropriate yet the colours keep it Summer fun and flirty, this is the direction I hope to move in as the Summer months come to an end. Denim, for me, can be worn one of three ways. You can wear your denim sleek and sexy sophisticated all skin tight jeans with a high rise or tailored denim jackets. You can wear your denim cute and flirty in the form of overalls or light denim shirts with a light weight skirt. Or you can wear your denim with attitude! Ripped denim shorts, loose fit boyfriend jeans with wear and tear all through them or a little something like our items of the week this week…..

Mens Trend: The Denim Vest

Indy street style has influenced the wardrobes of trend-followers everywhere, and the denim vest is certainly one of the bigger mens hits this season. Worn over a loose singlet or even a t-shirt, the denim vest is a great addition to your outfit. The vest is versatile – worn with black jeans and boots, it gives your look some edge, or with a tee and chinos, it can be worn day to day. OBSESSION: The Denim Short
