Winter is fast approaching with only days to go which means we are about to slam head first into cold days and even colder nights. It’s time to re-work the wardrobe and get those essential pieces to get you happily and safely through the winter chill in style. Firstly, ensure you have an up to date wardrobe by combining staples with on trend accessories like beanies and scarves. I can guarantee if you follow the buying guide below you will never have an “I have nothing to wear” moment again (well maybe until next season)!
The beanie is not only a statement head wear option this winter but oh so practical! You can look chic, inject some colour into your winter wardrobe and keep your head warm all at once- if you can think of a more versatile piece, please let me know! Guys and gals are jumping on the beanie bandwagon to add some street cred to their outfit. I say, bring on the bad hair days because then you can cover them up!
The jean is a pretty self explanatory wardrobe essential. They are the most staple and versatile piece of any guy or gals wardrobe. The jean becomes the solid building block for your winter attire whether it’s with a casual jumper and cons for day or heels/ dress shoes and a jacket for night. The only thing about the jean is the style can change each season and this season for the ladies is the boyfriend jean (boyfriend jean blog post) and traditional blue that takes centre stage while the guy’s see the drop crotch, dark denim and tracksuit denim style take over. If you don’t have a solid pair and only have one pay check to splash out on, get yourself some jeans!
Do you prefer the bomber, varsity, denim, leather, anorak or blazer? It really doesn’t matter because this winter they are all on trend in a variety of cuts and colours. Throw on the bomber for day then change to the anorak for afternoon drinks and a blazer for dinner. So little time, so many options!
Winter is the season of the boot scootin’ baby! There’s so many women’s boots this season from the ankle, heeled, biker, flat and knee length boots we’re spoiled for choice. All boots can easily be worn with pants, skirts and dresses but my pick of the season is the ankle boot as it’s more versatile and can be worn well into the spring months.
A knit jumper is sure to keep you snug all winter long. You can wear it by itself with leather pants or jeans or layer it under your jacket for those chillier days. Go for a bright colour, patterned or black… the choices are endless.
Scarves are the winter hero. They can dress up a plain knit and tee combo and add a little something to an otherwise basic outfit. A chunky woollen scarf can double as a shawl or choose a lighter scarf for those warmer days and to add an unexpected element to your outfit.
It’s time to rug up- the countdown is on!
