I learnt first hand this week that summer is well and truly on it’s way! I thoughy I could go to the beach without a hat and sunscreen- bad idea as the harsh summer rays got me and the back of my legs are red raw and even coming to work to sit on a chair all day is a challenge. So with that in mind this week I’m dedicating the items of the week to some of the great hats and caps that have just arrived at SurfStitch!
Tigerlily Rani Floppy Hat
This big floppy straw Tigerlily hat would compliment anyone in the sun whether you’re going for a lunch date with the girls or relaxing at the beach or poolside. It is classy enough to wear out with a sundress and sandals yet casual enough for those long weekend beach days.
The Critical Slide Society Val Jerk Cap
A cap is a guys greatest accessory. Throw it on for any occasion and you can immediately update your basic tee and short combo into something else. Not only will it keep the sun out of your face this summer go for a bright print like this Critical Slide Society one and add a bit of fun to your day!

Yesterday I took a walk through the SurfStitch office to see what everyone was kickin around in. There was an array of different feet from heels, to jelly’s, thongs, cute flats and of course a SurfStitch favourite, Cons. If you haven’t already guessed we are a pretty cruisy office preferring to wear boardies than suits so it’s always fun to see who’s wearing what, when. So without further adieu… I’ll let the feet do the talking!

As Spring looms closer and summer is right around the corner, we’re re-thinking our colour palettes. Influenced by the ranges of labels like Billabong, Tigerlily, Roxy and more, it’s the pastel candy colours that are coming through and brightening our fashion moods!
Wear with white accessories and wedges for summer night chic, or pair with denim shorts or a denim jacket for casual daytime wear. Don’t forget a slick of pink blush, light pink lippy and a loose, secretly refined (but still messy looking) pony tail in your hair.
Take a look at our candy coloured inspiration and shop our favourite colour obsession of the season at SurfStitch.

We’ve raved about this print before and we’ll say it again: eye catching and reminiscent of an oriental place, paisley print is trending hard.
Finding itself on more fitting items like this week’s Tigerlily kimono, and even on mens tees, paisley has popped up in the SurfStitch new arrivals and we love the look. Check out this week’s items of the week!
For the ladies: This one’s a hot favourite in the SurfStitch office this week. The gorgeous summer colours, the popular kimono style and the bohemian paisley print have us in love with this item of the week. Pair it with your printed bikini, a sheer top and your denim shorts and you’ll be ready for a poolside BBQ in no time.
Tigerlily Haveli Komono – Curry.
For the gentlemen: Every guy needs a great collection of tees, to be dressed down with boardies for a beach day or up with chinos and Vans for a party – however you all like a bit of variety. Nod your head in the general direction of this trend with this Billabong tee. Your laid back way of being right on trend!

The shift dress has proven to be the most versatile and chic style of dress. Dating back to the 60s “mod” era, the shift dress hails from style queen Twiggy. This versatile shape suits all body types whether you want to opt for a sleeveless, high neck and short hemline or choose a capped sleeve, longer length and fuller shape. It’s the perfect frock for those days when you just want to slip on a dress and walk out the door.
Sticking to a plain, block colour is the easiest to wear. Match it with boots for a night out or flats and a bold necklace for day. However, this coming spring/ summer I say step out of your comfort zone and experiment with bold colours and eye catching patterns to really rejoice the spring season!
